Today was a good day. I actually thought about a lot of things LIFE, Career, Love, Friends, Relationships, and Most important ME!!! lol but seriously I did. I put a lot of things into perspective. For one my LIFE is going very smoothly I am enjoying it and I really can't complain. Let me elaborate my Dance Career is amazing BOOMING, I've joined a new crew called The ArchiTEKS consisting of, Director, Brian Puspos, Pat Lam, Alan Troung, Mark & Brian Fucanan Duy Nguyen, and Myself, and we are coming out with guns blazing. Shooting videos, performances, competitions and we wont stop until we take over. My overseas travels are booming so many invites from Belgium, Brazil, Switzerland, Prague, Indonesia, and China! Yeah I know crazy right. And I have seriously been working up to this point so whats next you ask? Nothing Im focusing on the now and RIGHT now I'm getting into production, videos, stage showcases, and webisodes! (Exciting) The Love front is amazing Im so INSPIRED and full of life I can't even tell you where it is coming from… actually I can. Everytime I travel and come back home to Houston, Tx. (that is) my peers always welcome me and support me to the fullest, by watching my work, coming to my classes, and watching and distributing my Video Projects and even participating. Which brings me to my Friends & Relationships… in turn I think could be ALOT better i get a lot of the "Mr Big Shot" "Mr. International" "Oh! you can't talk to me anymore because you travel" So I won't open that door just for the sake of my own sanity not yet atlas. Also in terms of relationships My Girlfriend left me. I love her SO much and I was really upset but news is news and I know this but I mean what can you do. Why did I separate LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS? because I too me they are no where NEAR the same the same thing. Love to me is the acceptance you have for all a Relatoinship is the LOVE you have for one… make since. And I will leave it at that. in retro {via this post} I realize that I'm am 26, My career is taking off and I'm on point with all my affairs, not to mention my financials are on their way up, not to mention my affair with a NAMELESS underage dancer =) (wink wink) and I learned that YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE.

So I am in love with LOVE LIFE and INSPIRATION

Recently I have joined an all male dance group called "The ArchiTEKS" this is name as a cool meaning by defenition an "Architect" is a creator of original foundation. buildings bridges ect. But we took the meaning and made it an acronym TEKS being the acronym, thus giving it the meaning "The Creators of Original Foundation Through, Experience, Knowledge & Skill. Well anywho this past weekend we had a photo with the group since all 7 of us were finally all in Houston at one time, and here are a couple of the shots.

MASSIVE UPDATE FROM CHINA!!

WOOT Guys Im finally back in the States. So to some the whole trip up it was HASSLE, WORK, FUN, DRINKS, TRAVEL, STRESS, JOB CHANGE. SIGH!!!!

Ok well I just have one word to some up my trip and work in China, AMAZING From Working with SuperBoy to Blossoming Flowers to DayDayup amazing experience. I am so thankful for this time I spent. I taught Classes at IDP (infinity dance productions) SDT (Super Dance Team) the Students were AMAZING in china all the friends I have made from Binza, to Tina, Q, YoYo, and D, Monkey Aaron, Cece, Jane, and my most favorite SHINE!!!!!!! everyone was just amazing.

What was I doing in China you ask.

I was performing on a TV called Superboy which is a Singing competition like the US American Idol which incorporates dancers and makes each episode like a mini concert for that artist. This show wasnt as artistically sound as me and my team would have liked (Moon, Aye, Jp, King, Shine) so we decided to leave.

Within that time we decided to work with the inverse of that show which is called Blossoming Flowers, which is the GIRL version of the show. This show had an amazing Director, styling team, and the head choreographer, Ken, made this job the MOST enjoyable experience EVER. From then on we worked with this show and its Choreographer he had an amazing team called IDP very talented and professional dancers.

Despite getting injured in the finale I pushed threw It and finished the SHOW and a sigh of relief and sadness. THEN ken sentus to beijing to have a lil VACAY! And to do osme teaching at his studio IDP. also teaching at SDT where the founder of Dance 2XS sat in on my class and LOVED it. He later took us out and showed us a GREAT time and later put me down with the company which is a DREAM come true.

SO that is my trip in a short summary check out the pics and the vids.

Okay guys im VERY sorry it took me this long but I am back and going to TAKE his blog more serious and i think i want to CHANGE the direction of this blog to what I dont know yet but I will let you know before.

This is the view from my hotel room here at the Golden Sea Hotel.
Very nice place swanky rooms, dry cleaning, dope restaurant on the second floor and for you extra special folks HAPPY endings on the 3rd. Altogether this is an AMAZING experience I've met some great people, contacts, and just good friends that can't even speak English but we are friends for life.

The work with Hunan TV is also amazing we are working with a TV called "Superboy" 2010 where its like American Idol but for guys 12 singers battle it out to be the next singing sensation we put together the shows and perform them on LIVE chinese TV and this is watched by 3 million people all over China. Right now we are currently switching to a new show as business in China moves very fast and you have to stay on the up & up to stay aloft in this game, so we decided to go else where but I dont plan on going back to the states for atleast a month or so....

Wardrobe fitting for out solider costumes what do you think?

THe beautiful and EVER so strange Aye-Chan she is from japan and no good at explaining that to you either, she is amazing and is every guy in China's fantasy but REALLY she is lmao love this chick she is out of it half the time BUT she can put on a face for YOU for stage though and it is soemthing to be seen.

Brother JP my Cali brother supportive, driven, and my PARTNER in crime here in China we dream up and conjour ideas in this hotel room that I can't wait to put to action.

OMG OMG OMG So is Monday the the 21st and I leave for China on friday the 25th AHHHHHHHHHH! so crazy.

I just have to first give a shoutout to Lando and his mother who let me crash and get my things together before I head out of the country, also to Soundbox studios for letting me prefect my teaching style. On the up and up I have alot to do these next couple das, photoshoots, pull some looks for test shots, rehearse and shoot my New Dance Video Le sigh! which I will be shooting on the 23rd of this week. It will be edited in China and sent back over maybe via Skype. Im super excited and nervous all at the same time, another culture, lifestyle, fashion, food, art, and most importantly different dance styles I don't really know how my work is going to be received in china but i only hope the best. I get to spend 3 months in a different country with my favorite people Jp Goldstein, Di moon Zhang, and Aye Hasegawa uber excited!

You know I thought that Fashion and Dancing go hand & hand, but after my recent photo-shoot that isn't entirely the truth (now that i think about it.) I recently modeled for an amazing photographer out of Austin, Tx. named Chris Quit Nguyen (http://www.flickr.com/photos/quitnguyen/) and It was a very professional shoot, but i found myself STRUGGLING to pose which is the point of this post. Alot of dancers think they can be models but posing and being STILL is NOT what a dancer does. We move we shake, bend, stretch, tilt, jump, and turn. so posing.... not so much. here are a cople of the shots we did. I must say I look alot more mature than I have in previous shoots and i like it.

Hello people Im back, how is everyone? Well I've been extremely busy preparing for my trip to China, and the list just keeps growing and growing.

I need to choreograph 5 separate dances to teach for a span of 6 to 10 dance workshops in a week. Next is I have to bring these photo shoots to life. One is a Adams Family Style shoot that I will style and direct shot by a friend of mine here in Houston. Make Up /Hair blah blah blah I'm really am excited can you tell. The other one is My solo shoot, and the concept I have is the brat and the gentlemen.

This is a bit of a identity bender photo shoot its like my alter ego and from there i don't care to elaborate. Next on my long never ending list is my dance videos which I need to choreograph to boost my youtube page. (Youtube.com/pplaybackwebtv) trying to line up more dance workshops and just general dance work. One is the "AMAZING" Paper Gangsta by Gaga which I have an 80s girl Holla-Back girl look YEAH? I think it makes sense. The other I have NO flipping Idea.

And last but not least is to Choreograph a set for our presentation on the Chinese TV show Hunan TV. I really need to get on it Im only 2 pieces in and still 3 more to go plus the vids and the presentation piece.

I want to scream but hey here we go WORK OVERLOAD but i am a machine and refuse to shut down.

I recently broke up with My GF and and I had alot of time to really think about my past years because we ALL do that when we have a break up, and what I noticed is a time of instability just a pattern of it, I want my own I want MY stuff MY friends MY apartment. What's holding me back you ask? ME... So I decided to end my relationship just as I decided to pursue what I want. REALLY go for it try as much as I can. These past year I met an amazing person who I thought was it for me... but in retro-spec I just see that it was an unstable time, quit my, my environment was unstable the people around friends, even the GF it wasnt there coming back home to Houston I see that... so I vowed to rebuild my from the group up, build my SELF up so I can attain what I want. I really dont care about the anger, the break up itself, nor the baggage that comes with it, I'm caring about the things that matter... and I'll leave it at that... thank you for my ear.

To Describe Emmanuelle personal style hmmm I don't even know where to start frankly. She is just the poster kid for just high class, on the go mature fashion from head to toe. She mixes, Fine-cured leathers, Animal Coats, Balmain Blazers, Gucci this, Balenciaga that, and rocks it all with a confidence and elegance of someone her sartorial stature.

He is featured on numerous blogs, magazines and photos, outside of fashion shows, events and parties, displaying a signature style all her own. She is known for wearing SKY-THIGH-HIGH boots studded heels and sandals and stylish pumps, from head to toe she is FLAWLESS.

I Decide to start making cohesive topics here in this blog so I decided every thursday I'd pic someone of worthy style praise who I think fits the mold of someone who has great style. What is "Great style" you ask? Well to me style and confidence go hand in hand. To have great style I think you a person needs to observe trends, follow a trend and accessorize. I've known people to be able to walk out side in some house slippers and a V-neck and be told they look nice, this is a matter of confidence which in-turn I think is the OTHER SIDE of personal style. The person I elected for my first post is easily a style icon and KNOWS style very well.

I chose Kate Lanphearthe Senior Style Director for US Elle Magazine.

Kate Lanphear has a unique, highly inspiring sense of style. She is widely considered a fashion icon and even has inspired a blog in her sartorial honor (Fearlanphear.blogspot.com) Being ELLE's Style Director, her taste is obviously very fashion-forward, but also tends towards the edgy, androgynous, and avant-garde.

She uses trends from American trends, European fashion, Haute Couture, and puts her personal spin adding numerous bracelets, bangles, and watches to flare up her outfits. Fashion is deemed with a specific stigma. And not that I'm saying this stigma isn't valid, because quite often it is, but not all the time. It is associated with materialism, greed, and the insatiable need to be defined by simple garments we lay across our bodies that virtually mean nothing. And it's true, they mean nothing. But I don't wear Gucci or Dolce & Gabbana because of the name. I would wear it because of the construction, the detail, and impeccable design that goes into the garment. Fashion is art as every designer has their own preference of the shape, linear quality, detail, and construction to their personal style.

A painter values his/her art.

So if someone finds a painting they think is beautiful and hangs it in their home, how is it different than wearing a shirt that one also finds beautiful?

Because someone dresses nice, with well put together outfits and quality clothes do you automatically write them off as materialistic? Shame on you if you do. (I'm not saying those people don't exist, they do, but what about the rest of us?)

It is as much of a choice to dress nicely as it is to not. You are an artist, so you wear loafers, skinny jeans, flannel, and a news boy hat. You are in love with hip hop so you wear sneakers, flat billed hats, and no lense frames. You are carefree so you wear jeans and a tee-shirt everyday. IT IS A CHOICE. Didn't your mother tell you not to judge a book by it's cover?

Fashion is art. that is all.

On the Eve of me leaving and moving to LA (again) Its a little bittersweet for reasons I will keep to myself. OH! and b4 i Forget sorry about not updating after the fashion show (Still waiting on the pictures because my camera died) but anywho, Im kinda at a loss for words about the WHOLE situation but Im VERY excited to head to Houston, Tx. for my workshop with Kyle and Derrick and everyone back home seems to be pretty excited, even though this will probably be the most students I've seen in MY class ever. Im excited to see old friends and make new ones and even hangout with all the teachers at the workshop and just shmooze a little bit, but I think what's got me down is just the WAIT from now until then (meaning this coming friday) and after I get all this teaching and what not out of my system Im heading to Los Angeles to thrust myself it yet ANOTHER machine that is Dance/Career not saying dancing is my career but I do have some things I want to accomplish while Im and also try my hang in PR/Marketing Fashion and Art and what not. I have been applying for internships and all that jazz and I really hope something comes my way. My boss at Starr's Clothing Co. is really looking out for me and is hooking me up with her daughter who is a prominent agent for Bloc Talent Agency and is just an all around COOL chic who I can be friends and actually have a NORMAL friend in LA besides all my dancer "Friends" and my roommate Melissa and Dakota are excited about me coming which I thank them everyday for letting me stay until get things together =) well Just a heads up to my readers and friends that are wondering whats going on in my head here it is lol.

OK guys Sorry for the long absence but I had to take a sec (LIKE THAT HUH?) to get everything together. So here we go.

I recently got a Job at Starr's Clothing Company a nice little spot on Pearl St. here in Boulder CO. its a nice chic little spot were people of all walks of life come in an shop. they have brands such as Levi's Carrhart, Woolrich, Red Engine, Tommy Bahama, 7 Diamonds, French Connection, Silver, Miss Me, Free People and the list goes on. It is a nice place to work locally owned and operated for get this 96 years yeah that just happened (lol) so OBVIOUSLY they are doing something right yeah? The store has such great things but what they are known for is their collection of JEANS and you guys KNOW i love denim, They order ship and even alter all in the store (all bases covered). Its owned by Karen and Steve Wigatow LOVE those guys just great people and they have a GREAT staff the appreciate your background as a professional in the retail industry and still push you to meet your goals LOVE IT! We have are two store Managers Joy and Aubrey I LOVE those girls they just make it fun and they are real people Emma is a Sales associate like me along with Kacie and my ROADDOG Jocelyn more about her in the next post =) alright guys.

Just recently they had me and some co workers attend a fashion show =) that is a WHOLE separate post in it self lol Im going to need it trust me.

I think i mention in a prior post that I got my FAVORITE boots bck when i went back home to visit my John Varvatos crackled leather motorcycle boots pic below pardon the bad cam its my macbook cam.

Also on another note im performing Tonight with Americas Best Dance Crew season 4 winners "We Are Heroes" SO excited i get to see my girl Nachelle rip it up man!!! AHHHHHH!!! crazy

SO Im heading back home in 2 days and Im EXTRA excited, ready to see the girlfriend and the Beautiful Town of Boulder, but its not gonna be just lovefest and vacay time. Im job hunting and putting together some dance videos ALSO, in April YAY! I have a workshop with myself and Kyle Hanagami GREAT line up if i do say so myself. So on a more fashion forward thought, Im putting together my "SPRING" plan Im thinking of cardigans and Buttons and MORE boots, no tennis maybe 1 new pair to dance in but thats about it, NO TENNIS SHOES (note to self)

FIRST off let me expalin what a "SHOWCASE" is to me. When I here showcase or exhibition I don't think of a 5 minute show, I think of a small mash up of numbers or a small piece just showing a little of what I do. With that being said I don't have transitions and I stand by my decision.

Ok here it goes... So I fly to Houston tomorrow I land at 3pm I'm excited and bummed at the same time. I love my girlfriend VERY much and I'm going to miss her SO much (I should go tell her this lol) and i appreciate everything she has done for me. From my cigs, to the food, to the fun, Boulder is a good place. so here is my TOP10 list of things i got to do in Boulder

Yup it was a good 5 weeks here but I must get back to work in Houston I have so many projects I am working on need to save some coin to pay off some debts. On a more positive note I have an interview at American Apparel on Wed. at 1pm so show me some love.

Hey guys. Its been a while I know I know, I needed to update. So alot is going on Im in Colorado, Boulder with my GF (LOVE HER) it didn't go as I planned, I'm not making money, didn't make ABDC, didn't get a job.... SHOCKER, so its back to Houston for a spell to come BACK to Boulder. The GF cant move to LA as planned and to boot I don't know how I'm going to make money ONCE I get back to Houston (sigh) but i PROMISE to update more and here goes nothing.

I see alot of things in Fashion i Like so many blogs, mags, and sites, i LOVE and its making me a better Fashion Merchandiser, and Fashionisto, and honestly centers my sanity.

Her Chanel-esque ensemble of white and black collarless coat and black wool shift is, respectively, from longtime favorite Thakoon and new favorite Michael Kors, who also had the honor of his racer-back gown being immortalized in Mrs. Obama’s official White House portrait. (We couldn’t identify the double-strand pearl necklace with flower pendant, though it certainly rounds out the whole Rue Cambon-via-Seventh Avenue thing she’s got going on.) The coat is a completely off-collection piece created custom by Thakoon Panichgul for the First Lady. While it looks like tweed, it’s actually a silk tulle that’s been flocked to resemble the classic fabric, following in the designer’s penchant for witty, trompe l’oeil materials; the trim is black grosgrain ribbon. We’ve got considerably less information on the Kors sheath, other than that it’s likely made of double-faced wool. (It looks a lot like look four from Fall 2009.) And i quote: What happened to the love of dance?

Sure we ALL love to dance...we ALL say it's our passion. But where's that true quality of it? Our community and industry needs to rekindle that love. It looks like it's been lost.

Nowadays the community and industry is PACKED with shows, workshops, events, etc. There is an event going on EVERY single weekend whether it be someone holding workshops at a studio or a competition or a show. There are so many events going on that people are overwhelmed with options. TOO MANY options.

Workshops, Conventions, Master Classes: *What is a Workshop? A place to train and learn different styles of teaching, dancing, and a way to work on being a better student. *What is a Convention? The larger scale of a workshop, but also working on the performance value of class because most conventions don't have mirrors. *What is a Master Class? A Class taught by someone with the knowledge of dance and how to move.

Today...there are so many workshops, conventions, and master classes. It seems that the true value of a "class" is going down. What happened to the excitement of training? Everyone wants to get to be the dancer/choreographer they dream to be SO FAST...that they forget that the process is the BEST part of it.

From the outside, I see people teaching classes for the wrong reasons. Maybe because they need the $ or maybe because the think they will gain respect for putting the dopest 1 e and a's on that floor or maybe to make a name for themselves when they put themselves on youtube. What happened to the TEACH in TEACHING?Are "teachers" actually teaching you how to dance, how to move, how to live...or are they just teaching counts? Are they teaching and preaching experiences they have gone thru in the community and industry to better their students? Do students leave class saying..."Dang, that changed my life?"

On the other hand, I see students going to class for different reasons than the dancers that took class in my day (I'm not old i think...hah, in my day as of teenager years). There are students only going to class because they see the teachers with certain credits...credits don't mean they are good teachers. There are students that want to have their face on youtube. There are students that just go because their friends are going. As students, training is MOST necessary when you first start. BASICS! Where are the basics? ELEMENTS? Where are the elements? TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING. Something that the community and industry lacks. We all need to keep training (shoot, i need to get my ass into class again too), but for ourselves...for the love of dance and being a better person.

Shows...what happened to the fun of going to a show and supporting every single aspect of it. So many shows are going on and the value has gone down too. We used to have shows that people prepare for that are just every few months. The hard work of being on a team or company was really brought out through these shows. Now there are so many that people don't know which one to go to, which on to dance in, etc. Shows are suffering because of the lack of attendance...but it's because people are overwhelmed with things going on. TV shows...there was been a great deal of dance shows on TV like SYTYCD, ABDC, Superstars of Dance, etc. Dance is something that the general public can see as true entertainment now...which is awesome! I just hope these contestants and the general audience do not forgot the passion in dance and where they come from.

On a more lighter and positive note...the places I travel and teach at. The people I meet along the way. Old friends and new friends. There are those STUDENTS and TEACHERS that inspire me to keep doing what I do. Those ones that are HUUNNGGRRYY to learn and those that YEARN to teach. I love seeing that. It keeps me sane and keeps me inspired. It's ALL about the cycle of inspiration...gotta keep it going to the generations to come.

Why do we do this? Because we love it. Why do we love it? ....... hmmmm. For every artist out there...dancer, choreographer, director, entertainer, singer, producer, etc etc etc. We ALL need to wake up...and think...of the TRUE REASONS we love to dance. Think about it. Don't just be a robot and do it. Be a person and LIVE IT.

Houston Press: The last time we saw you live was a little while ago at the Continental Club. You were a bit more of a supplement to that band [the Umbrella Man] than a featured act. What's going on with your solo album?

Kam: Yeah, that's my regular Tuesday night thing. It's actually Nick Gaitan's project, I'm just happy to be a part of it. My band is Heptic Skeptic. Right now I'm finally, finally, finally recording my solo stuff. I'll probably put [up] some YouTube videos and pretend like somebody cares. I'll hopefully release my [album] before my birthday.

HP: When's that?

K: June 7, same day as Prince.

HP: Nice company to have. A SXSW show is a pretty coveted gig. How'd you get tied in so quickly?

Kam: How'd I get tied in to South by Southwest? Umm, I applied.

HP [laughs]: Hmmm, interesting.

K: Yep, yep. I wrote my name down on a little application.

HP: That's not interesting at all. We thought you had a cool story or hookup. You know, you performed with this guy who knew that guy or whatever.

K [laughs]: Well, I performed with a lot of people and worked my ass off and "got found," I guess — that seems kinda lame to say. I guess if I had been "found," I'd be making some money now.

HP: True. Where and when are you performing [at SXSW]?

K: I'm performing at B.D. Riley's. It's an Irish pub on 6th Street. I'm performing with R&B and jazz musicians.

HP: So it's, like, the "black" showcase?

K [laughs]: No, I'm actually performing with, like, a French jazz band playing after me or something. Last year I performed on the black musician showcase and I loved it. I was secretly hoping that I could get on there again. I was gonna go and get up in Solange's shit [laughs].

Closed since February 2008 – not long after it had relocated from the Heights – due to lack of an occupancy permit and other necessary city paperwork, East End performance-art/music venue Super Happy Fun Land (3801 Polk) finally reopened last week. The converted warehouse now has an occupancy load card of 290, and owner Brian Arthur has already started booking as many SXSW spillover shows as he can given the short notice. Confirmed are North Carolina's Beloved Binge (March 15), Californians Brown Shoe with Canadians Attack in Black and Shotgun Jimmie (March 17), Brooklynites Afuche with Hollywood's Intercept (March 18) and an overseas bill of Canja Rave (Brazil) and CLP (Germany) March 19.
